Date:  APRIL 27, 2024 – FREE TO BE A SPECTATOR &  ALL ARE WELCOMED TO VOLUNTEER.

BE PREPARED AT THE GATE TO FOLLOW ALL UA TRACK RULES.  Large purses and bags are not allowed in the stadium. Clear or very small only.

OPEN TRACK MEET for ALL MEN AND WOMEN ages 40 and up, competing in 5-year age groups.

Venue Location:  Fayetteville, AR at the University of Arkansas at John McDonnell Track – Outdoors

Competition : April 27,  2024 in Fayetteville, AR. at the U of Arkansas and John McDonnell Track
Athlete Check-In: Athletes may check-in ANYTIME starting after 7:45am, and athletes can check in at least 30 minutes prior to your first event of the day.  So, no need to show up at 8am if your first event isn’t until later in the day.  But, we hope to have many in attendance at the opening ceremony at 9:15am.
More info: Bring your own equipment, if possible.  But some equipment can be borrowed, so please ask.
 

 

 SCHEDULE

IF YOU ARE AN ATHLETE, please know that you can check anytime BEFORE your event, hopefully at least 30 minutes prior to your event.   NSGA RULES APPLY.  This is a qualifying meet for NSGA

ALL BELOW IS A CLOSE reference…..SOME ARE NOT THE EXACT TIMES OR ORDER of the day.

7:45am  Gates at track open to athletes and athlete check-in begins.  You do not have to show up at 7:45am unless you want to, but please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your first event of the day, per below schedule.

8:00am to 9:00am Open for most Field events and running & walking events warmups (not Javelin or Hammer)

Field events are DROP-IN EVENTS & can be done anytime during times below:

8:30am – 11am or until all vaulters are finished – Pole Vault

9:15am – OPENING CEREMONY – TORCH PRESENTATION & NATIONAL ANTHEM, with the Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan and the CEO of Experience Fayetteville Molly Rawn, both giving words of welcome to all.   Also in attendance will be 3 Ms. Senior Arkansas winners. 

9:30am – 1500m Race Walk / 1500m Power Walk / 5k POWER WALK5k RACE WALK – AND the 400m Walk (*we will all discuss options of these events at the start, as we might start at 805am if everyone is ready to go, and/or if weather looks bad.  So be ready to go at 8ish or 930ish)

9:30am – 12:30pm – Shotput, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump
Recreational events like Softball & Football Throws, and the Standing Long Jump

2:00pm to 5:00pm – Hammer and Javelin

(*ALL times on this web page are subject to change, so check back up here on this website page OFTEN over the next week, up until Thursday the 4/25/2024 at 10pm.   After this, likely no changes will be made on this page, so be prepared for any changes at the meet itself, as the event Director has discretion to modify all events and times.)

 

Depending on when the Timing company arrives the following running events will begin (as hope) at approximately 1:15pm to 1:30pm, and in this order:
400m (all women then men’s heats)
100m
800m
50m
200m
1500m Run 

*NOTE:  We hope to have a 4 x 100m RELAY at the end of the day as the last event.  So if you want to run a 100m leg, get with meet Director, Greg, before or very soon after the last event (1500m).  We will form 4 person teams based on all those that come to the starting line to run a 100m segment.
